Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana on April 151976. Monroe Christian School was her private Christian primary school. In her secondary education Ward first attended Ouachita High School. However, she was later moved into River Oaks High School during the summer immediately following her Junior year. She did a brief stint at Northeast Louisiana University after graduating. Ward left school at the age of thirteen and relocated in New York so that she could start modeling. After a few years, she also decided to take up acting. Initially, in 1970s she was a character who wasn't credited in the show All My Children. A few years later she was selected for the NBC premiertime drama for teens Malibu Shores. Ward got her first lead role in the Sunset Beach daytime soap opera and portrayed the romantically virginal Meg Cummings. The year 1999 saw her movie career started with her role as Brittany Foster (the psychotic Brittany Foster) in the romantic thriller The In Crowd. The film was not a huge hit in the theaters, but did well on home video and cable. Ward made a cameo appearance on Shallow Hal - a smash movie the following year. Alongside her direct-to-DVD roles, Ward also made many guest appearances in TV programs like Friends. In 2009she was cast in the role of Chloe Kmet, the mother to a young girl in the ABC Family drama Make It or Break It. She has a personal life that includes marriage to director David C. Robinson. Together, they have a son called Cameron.
